Eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive. There are many ways to eat healthy, low cost recipes that will make it possible for you to save money on your grocery bills while still eating a nutritious diet.

The following are some tips for eating healthy on a budget:

  • Keep your pantry stocked with healthy staples like canned beans, rice, pasta and whole grains. These items can be bought in bulk and stored for longer periods of time without going bad. Buying in bulk can help you save money because the initial investment is much lower than buying individual packages of food from the store every week.
  • Shop around for the best deals at the grocery store — even if it means going out of your way or waiting for a sale before purchasing certain items.
  • Search for budget-friendly recipes online. Pinterest is great for this and so are YouTube videos. There are lots of resources available online for preparing tasty, nutritious food on the cheap.
  • Find out which recipes you make can be frozen. When you freeze batch these recipes, the food can last up to months longer!
